Boys Brigade

The Boys Brigade at All Saints

The Boys’ Brigade was the first voluntary uniformed youth movement in the world and many of today’s organisations for young people can trace their roots back through history to The Boys’ Brigade!

Boys Brigade are committed to seeing lives enriched by supporting children and young people to reach their full potential by providing opportunities to meet together and engage in a range of fun, developmental activities and experiences.

There’s something for every young person whether it’s camping or kayaking, first aid or five a side. Members develop skills, build confidence, make friends, take responsibility and are encouraged to make a real difference in their communities - sharing the values that make us who we are.

Anchor Section:  - School years 1,2 & 3

Children in the Anchor Section are encouraged to follow an active lifestyle and to get involved in activities such as crafts, playing games and sports, going on visits and most importantly, making friends. Joining in with these activities enables the Boys to earn their badges of merit, which also acts as motivation to get involved wholeheartedly.

The Anchor Section meets at All Saints Burgess Hill on Wednesdays 6:15pm to 7:30pm

Junior Section:  - School years 4,5 & 6

The primary focus for this Section is on ensuring that all the learning and development that takes place is a result of fun filled activities.  meetings are loaded with challenges, games and activities most of which have been suggested by them, and at the same time we encourage them to explore new interests.

The Junior Section meets at All Saints Burgess Hill on Wednesdays 6:15 to 7:30pm.

Company Section:  - School years 7, 8, 9, 10+

The Company section steps the learning curve up a notch by allowing them to take advantage of their new skills, physical development and strengthened sense of character. Young people who are part of this section, begin to gradually push the threshold of self-imposed limits.
The Training aspect of the Company Section entitles the young people to actively take part in the Discover program that allows them to:
  • Take part in a fun, balanced and challenging program
  • Be recognised for their effort and achievement
  • Build trusting relationships
The Company Section meets at All Saints, Burgess Hill on Fridays 7:30pm to 9:30pm
